Internship Program

Internship Program

Our internship program is open to students currently enrolled in Art History, Museum & Gallery Methods, History, or Anthropology classes at Sonoma State University. One to three interns are selected each semester based on current project needs.

This internship is intended to provide hands-on experience maintaining an archive of historic documents.

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Scanning and digitally archiving photos and documents.

  • Filing and organizing original photographs and other source material.

  • Cleaning and protecting documents and objects for archival storage.

  • Researching archival storage practices including protection from temperature and moisture,

    pest management, fire and smoke damage, and mitigating active deterioration.

  • Sharing and documenting historic photos and archive work on social media or other digital

    platforms.

  • Support and assist staff and visiting researchers on projects as needed.
